The Holidays

Christmas is More Than Just Friendly Salutations – It’s a Time to Feel Grateful

Every year at Christmas time, I find myself immersed in reflection and reminiscence as I look back on the year and everything that happened. From a big picture perspective, I acknowledge how fortunate we all are to live in the United States and call America our home. Here we all are as one big melting pot of history, cultures, and beliefs. It is something truly remarkable.

This time of year also happens to be a time in which we most vividly and passionately celebrate our shared American culture. While engaging in celebration, I would be remiss if I did not take time to reflect on the history that got us where we are today. We tend to think about recent history and current events, as opposed to the larger picture.

Instead, I like to think about the hundreds of thousands of people who came together over hundreds of years to produce the country we know and love today. These people instilled in the next generation their beliefs and values, passing down on oratory history that just can’t be captured in textbooks.

The Holiday “Equalizer”

Today, we find ourselves worried about clashing into another’s beliefs and have developed an all-encompassing “holidays” to avoid that collision. We shadow the true cultures that lay beneath all of our exteriors during this compassionate time.I find it far more valuable to both share the history of my ancestors with others while inviting them to share theirs.

In my time here, I have been fortunate enough to know and converse with countless inspiring Americans. What I have learned is that every one of them has their own story, and they want to share that story. I enjoy listening to those stories and collecting them in my travels as they challenge my preconceived notions and assumptions on a daily basis. They challenge me to do better.

I find it far more valuable to both share the history of my ancestors with others while inviting them to share theirs.

Inlokality: Bringing Shared Cultures Together

Here at Inlokality, our mission is to make new connections, bring people together, create and sustain friendships, and delve into what makes each and every one of us great. In just one-year, our very first year, we have made countless new friends, grown our team, and created a long-term plan for where we aim to bring the brand in the years to come.

I am writing this to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

We are in this together, and we can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for all of us.

Randall Sander
